HIDE-A-HOSE solves the Central Vacuum Hose Problem!
THE PROBLEM: Storing and and managing the 30 foot central vacuum hose. When asked what are the drawbacks to owning a central vacuum system, Central Vacuum owners consistently reply, "hose management!"
THE SOLUTION: Hide-A-Hose self retracting hose system. Pull out only the amount of hose that you need, up to 60 foot. Covers 2300 square feet vs. tratidional hoses that cover only 700 square feet. When you're done vacuuming, the hose automatically retracts back into the wall. Easy, neat, effortless. No more central vacuum hose management problem.

Where does the hose go?
The Hide-A-Hose Retractable Hose System harnesses the suction from the Power Unit (usually installed in the garage) to retract the hose back into the PVC tubing hidden within the walls, attic, and floor joists, of your home.
Smarter Installation/Smarter Technology
|

Our SmartTube™ system hidden within the walls, attic or crawl spaces, stores the RETRACTABLE HOSE. Special tubing sweeps allow the RETRACTABLE HOSE to travel freely within the tubing. Inlets can be installed within any 2” x 4” wall cavity. Hose lengths are customized according to the size of the floor. Each inlet can cover up to 2300 sq. ft. All the tubing is connected to a central power unit usually placed in the garage, basement or equipment room. Installation is simpler and easier for new construction or retrofitting an existing home.
Is this only for new construction or can my home be retrofitted?
As long as there is access to an attic or crawl space, the system can be installed in most homes. You’re local installer would need to visit you’re home to make sure it can be done. Can you retrofit an existing central vacuum system?
The answer is yes, however, most of the plumbing used by your existing system will have to be replaced. The reason is, standard central vacuum systems are plumbed with standard 90’s and fittings that prevent the hose from traveling through the tubing. Because the Retractable Hose System actually stores the hose in the PVC tubing, special sweep 90’s and 45’s are required which allow the hose to travel through the tubing. How long are the Hoses?
A standard central vacuum system uses a 30' hose. Anything bigger than that is just too big to carry and store. With the Hide-A-Hose System, a 30', 40', or 50' hose can be used. The benefit is that with a longer hose the number of inlets needed is usually reduced by half. Fewer inlets will save time and makes vacuuming more convenient. Can a Hose Sock be used?
The main benefit of a hose sock is so to prevent furniture and woodwork from getting scratched by the hose. Each hose comes standard with a hose sock. Will the Hose Sock get dirty from being stored in the tubing?
he sock actually stays cleaner than a hose sock with a standard central vac system. Hose sock’s picks up dirt and dust from floors while vacuuming. Every time the power unit is turned on and the hose is in the wall the suction from the power unit is continually cleaning the hose. That doesn’t happen when the hose is sitting in a closet. How do you turn the power unit on?
The system can be turned on by a low voltage switch at each inlet. The system can also be turned on and off by an optional remote control (rf) switch on the handle. What kind of Power Brush can I use?
There are two types of power brushes used with Central Vacuum Systems – Electric Power brush, and an Air (turbine) Driven Power Brush. The Hide A Hose system does not use an electric hose. The HP Turbocat Air Driven Power Brush is recommended.
|
Will the Air Driven Power Brush clean as well as an Electric Powerhead?
If the Turbocat Air Driven Power Brush is matched with the right Power Unit tests show that it’s performance is comparable to an Electric Power Head. The Turbocat has a higher life expectancy, higher brush speed than many electric power head’s, it is lighter, it has an automatic height adjustment feature, and it has the ability to clean closer to edges. In addition the Turbocat has a built in Performance Indicator. If airflow is restricted within the tubing or power unit, the Turbocat will slow down, indicating that the system is not operating at peak performance and should be checked. Testimonials
| This is the most “useful” thing you could have for your home! My wife loves it and she really likes the fact that I actually “clean up after myself” right then and not later. It is extremely easy and convenient to use. When our neighbors, friends and family see it… they all want one. They are always amazed at how well the vacuum works and also how quick it is to use and put away. I would and do recommend this to anyone that wants to MAKE THEIR LIFE EASIER and KEEP THEIR HOME CLEANER! |

The Hide-A-Hose system is the only central vac system worth owning. I’d NEVER go back to the traditional one. Jason at RETRAC VAC takes excellent care of his clients and is very astute in helping you get the most out of your system.

Retrac Vac’s hide-a-hose central vacuum system really makes it easier to clean up the “spontaneous” messes to keep your home looking nicer. With the traditional system, I could never get motivated to go dig the hose out of the closet so I would always either clean it up “the best I could” or leave it for “when I was really going to clean”. With the hide-a-hose system, you just pull it out of the wall, flip the switch right there, clean up the mess, and then hold your hand over the end of the hose and watch it disappear back into the wall. It is awesome! You are missing out if you don’t have this system in your house. By the way, it is VERY affordable. AND WORTH EVERY PENNY!

I absolutely love my awesome vacuum system. It is simple to use and is very powerful. No more up and down the stairs with my clunky old vacuum…I just remove it & use it. Thank you Retract Vac my life is less stressful, with less mess, and it was extremely affordable. Don’t bother shopping around… I already did and you can bet you will get the best equipment and service from Retract Vac here in the Treasure Valley. Jason Huntley and his crew had my vacuum installed the next day.

Why I’ll never own a “traditional” central vacuum again.
|
“Before I saw the Hide-A-Hose system I wasn’t sure I was going to get a central vacuum system for my new house. I was tired of lugging a bulky hose from inlet to inlet, up and down the steps, and especially shoving it in a closet when I was done, but I knew a portable vacuum was even worse. The Hide-A-Hose system may be the coolest thing in my new home, and because it is more convenient we clean more often, so our home is cleaner and healthier. My friends are very envious!!!”

“Why I’ll never install outdated central vacuum technology.”
“It’s a cleaner and simpler install with the Hide-A-Hose Retractable Central Vacuum System. You don’t need to install as many inlet valves. Plus, I don’t like installing older/outdated technology for my homeowners. I didn’t recommend it once. Never again! Customers that have the Hide-A-Hose system will never go back to the old way of doing it.”
